I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than thirty years. I have a degree in chemistry and spent many of those years creating and developing new products in the consumer products industry. In 1999 I discovered ceramics and quickly fell in love with the medium and the joy of creating art with my hands. I am especially attracted to the alternate firing methods like raku, salt, and pit-firing which allow the serendipitous effects of the fire, smoke, and environment to play a role in the ultimate aesthetic. I am also a print maker, focusing mainly on wood block prints and etching. I live and work in Lafayette, California along my wife, award winning painter Pamela Fletcher. I also enjoy traveling and am an avid travel photographer.
